About

Jim Winter is an IT drone, middle-aged college student, stepdad, reviewer, and alleged novelist from Cincinnati, Ohio.  Originally from Cleveland, Jim arrived in the Queen City in 1991 to marry the love of his life.  He met her in 2008 and wasted no time sweeping her off to a Tennessee chapel before she could change her mind.

In the intervening years, Jim has been a factory grunt, pizza delivery driver, almost arrested on a sales job, a standup comedian, and, for a brief period in the mid-1990’s, a Klingon (TM).

Jim currently writes reviews for January Magazine and Mystery Scene and does the odd interview piece for The Rap Sheet and Crimespree. His short stories have appeared in Thrilling Detective, the original Plots With Guns, Spinetingler, and Thug Lit.  He has been accused of designing web pages, and will gladly discuss doing so again if you contact irritable.mood@gmail.com

Questions, comments, concerns can be addressed to jamesrwinter@yahoo.com.  You can join his spam list subscribe to his occasionally informative email newsletter at winter-newsletter-subscribe@yahoogroups.com or see what he’s up to at his web site.

He currently lives with his wife Nita and stepson AJ in suburban Deer park.

Jim-Are you planning to do a forgotten book this Friday? Trying to get my ducks in a row.

Jim-I see some time has past. Could you do another forgotten book sometime in August? Bill says I have to go back to the well and I detect one in Ohio. Patti

Hi Jim,

Wanted to know if you would be interested in doing a guest post or interview with Lisa Sweetingham in June. She is the author of “Chemical Cowboys”, her debut book from Random House. I couldn’t find an email address for you – but if you would be interested, please email me at novelnoise(at)live(dot)com

P.S. Schmoopie…that cracks me up, I am a HUGE Seinfeld fan!

What’s the comedian crap?

I read your story, “Love Don’t Mean a Thing,” at
http://www.thrillingdetective.com/

Not bad. Good to see you out there doing good stuff.

Hello, I just wanted to say that I loved “Love Don’t Mean a Thing” at the Thrilling Detective web site.

Talk about Hard Boiled!

Yup, this is the good stuff.

Thanks!

Hey Jim,

Thanks for reviewing “TKO”. When you’re with a small indie you need all the help you can get.

It’s appreciated.

NP, Tom. Sorry it came out so late, but as you can see, Sandra had a lot on her plate getting this issue out.
